It was again an adventurous trip with no plans. It's a friend marriage on Friday morning and all set for roadtrip to Theni and idea is to plan from there on.
As usual a delay start from Chennai and surprisingly huge traffic on non - friday in GST Highway.
Chennai to Theni - 560Km - Reached around 2 AM on Friday.
Attended Marriage on Friday @ Veerapondy, Theni and went to a Sri Kalasthi temple in Uthamapalayam.We started to Vagamon on Saturday via Ramakalmedu. The plan is to go to Ramakalmedu and there to Vagamon or any nearby place
Theni - Ramakalmedu
Ramakalmedu is small hill top located enroute towards Vagamon and is worth visiting for hill top view and jeep safari. Here is few snaps from the spot
Vagamon - Palozhukum Parai, Lower Pine Forest, Green Medows
Vagamon is nice place and finally ticked my wishlist to visit this beautiful place. We skipped the main town and stayed near Lower pine forest. Absolutely loved it with the climate and the view of pine forest.Missed the Off roading option .
Vagamon to Munnar via Nedunkundam - Anchuruli
We decided to move back to chennai but will give a try this time via Munnar though it will take more time and distance. Enroute find a sign board and found Anchuruli tunnel. This place was really nice and worth to spend time with family & friends.
Anchuruli - Munnar via Poombarai
Decided to hit back to Munnar route. Poombarai - Chinna Kanal road was closed due to landslide and alternate route was opened. Road was very bad due to the kerela flood in November.
Munnar climate was good with mist all over. We did not stay in Munnar and just wanted to be on the road for the day. Just had our lunch in Munnar and moved on.
Munnar - Anaimudi - Chinnar - Udumalapet - Chennai
The climate was very good . We spotted two elephants from Chinnar to Anaimudi stretch just about to get down on the road and we escaped before the hit the road.
Chinnar wild life santuary was closed by the time we reach and missed to spot the Kurinji flower blossomed in 2018.
