Pallikaranai marshland is the only surviving wetland ecosystem of the city and is among the few and last remaining natural wetlands of South India.
Pallikaranai Marsh lands extends to Sholinganallur via OMR.
Marsh lands near Thangavelu Engineering College and behind CTS (Thoraipakkam) is a great place for Bird watching. This is not a well known place for Birding
